We act as advocates on behalf of and in defense of the MGs in their dealings with private and public sector actors, as a place to share knowledge and resources, and to support co-operatives independently and collectively.
UFCC is in a stronger position to resolve issues between MGs and the Government of Uganda because it has a formal registration with the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Cooperatives and has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with it. Additionally, it is better situated to connect MGs with its foreign and domestic business partners.
In 2018, KFCC (the mother organisation of UFCC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives and commenced the support towards the establishment of Saemaul Geumgos (popularly known as MGs) in Uganda.
UFCC was officially registered on the 6th September 2022 by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives.
The journey for Uganda Federation of MG Community Credit Cooperatives (UFCC) started in 2018 when the mother organisation, Korean Federation of Community Credit Cooperatives (KFCC) signed a memorandum of understanding with the Government of Uganda. Today there are 18 MGs in Uganda. At UFCC we put members first in everything we do; our members are the prime beneficiaries of our services.
